Happy Holidays from VFW Post 1454! December is a busy month with events, fundraisers, raffles, parties, dart tournaments and more. There is something fun for everyone! The Auxiliary is sponsoring a Quilt Raffle this month. Tickets are available at the Post or through Auxiliary Members. Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. The quilt is handmade and constructed with military uniforms. It is on display at the Post. All proceeds go toward adopting military families for Christmas.
Join Post 1454 as we place wreaths at the Veteran's Section of the Riverside Cemetary in Alma on December 17th. We are seeking 36 volunteers to help place wreaths and assist in other ways. We will begin placing wreaths at noon. Contact Jeff Humphy our Wreaths Across America program chair for more information or inquire at the Post. We are proud to be participating in this wonderful project honoring our fallen Comrades.
Reminder, the Post will be closed on Christmas Day.
We will not be having a Friday Fish Fry in December but we will be hosting another New Year's Eve Party! Same great menu and entertainment as last year.
We'd like to thank our wonderful Ellen Winn and her helpers for decorating the Post. Everything looks so festive and nice. Great job ladies! Don't forget, our Post is available for rent for your holiday parties and events. Contact us for more information or to reserve space.
We would like to welcome all of our new Auxiliary Members. We're glad to have you on board. Post Members, we are looking to fill two key positions for 2017. Post Commander and Quartermaster. Both positions are extremely important to our organization. We are seeking energetic candidates with fresh ideas to help keep our Post moving forward. Inquire at the Post for more information.
Beginning in January 2017, the Auxiliary will be hosting Sunday Breakfast on the 2nd Sunday of January. The Auxiliary is seeking volunteers for this event. Contact Cecelia or Loretta or inquire at the Post if interested.
Finally, from our family to yours, VFW Post 1454 wishes all a safe and happy holiday season. We thank you for your continued support of Post 1454 and your local Veterans. We are looking forward to a new year with new opportunities to serve our Veterans and our community. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
