Salute to Our Comrade Earl F. Wickman

Leslie C. McLean VFW Post #1454 salutes our Comrade Earl F. Wickman
for 70 years of dedicated service to our organization.

Born and raised in Alma Michigan, Earl is a WWII Veteran who served as a Staff Sergeant in the 98th Chemical Composite in the Pacific theatre during WWII. Earl was 22 years old and still enlisted in the United States Army when he joined the Post back in 1945. Today at 93 years old, Earl remains an active member of VFW Post 1454 where he continues to serve as a member of the Honor Guard, the prestigious group that carries out the “21 Gun Salute” military honors. In addition to his Honor Guard duties, Earl marches with his fellow Veterans each year in the Highland Parade.
